This winter I began another job photographing newborns for a great company. I work in two local Dayton hospitals & love getting to meet new babies while I capture their first day in the hospital.

My friend Katie asked me to come document Cooper’s first day at Miami Valley Hospital South. I loved meeting him & seeing such a beautiful friend became a mama! Katie used to be in my art classes in high school and now I get to welcome her sweet Cooper to the world. He already has a sweet disposition and the room was swollen with love.

I’m sure you noticed that he looks extra handsome & already has great style!
You can find his clothes here locally, at Sugar and Spice, A Children’s Boutique here in Oakwood.

Thank you for stopping by, I think you can see why I love photographing newborns so very much! ♥

My mind is having trouble writing an introduction to this post. I want to tell you all about what I’ve been up to & where I am going, but I think that will be another post on another day. There has been a lot of thought & intentional planning behind the scenes to transition my old content to a new format. I am still working on curating my work, but thrilled to see my online pages begin to reflect where I am.

It has been a dream of mine to open a portrait studio. Until then, I’ve been renting studio space downtown as needed per session. It is hard to believe it snowed the week of this late March session, but we were cozy inside with little Cayden.
Loved his sweet cheeks & classic rompers his mama dressed him in celebration of turning one.

Jennifer Stanley, of Lost & Found Vintage Rentals has been so gracious to open her studio to other photographers. She has a great selection of vintage pieces and she does so much during the sessions too!
She can hold a reflector & make babies laugh, a woman of many talents! ♥

This family makes my heart sing. I love who they are and what they stand for! You captured their inner beauty, Andrea. What a treat your photography is to them and the world!

These days it’s hard to get all eight of us kids together. Holidays are chaotic and sometimes we pause and get excited that everyone is together, but usually it’s very short lived since someone is usually arriving as another is leaving. This year we crossed our fingers that we could actually pull off a family picture during Memorial Day weekend.

It worked! I tried to take as many shots as I could, and thankfully my sister’s husband was able to snap the entire group. My parents used to take us each year to get portraits done at Whirlpool {where my dad worked/s}, and we have hilarious photographs of every awkward stage. There is even one of my parents smiling and me crying & running to them in the bottom of the frame if you look close enough.

Now that many of us are raising families of our own, all around the state, a group portrait hasn’t been taken in years. I think we are convinced that this needs to happen more often and that it should not be an isolated event!

In age descending order:

Sheila // Samuel // Rachel // Steven // Andrea // Josh // Abby // Joel

Nothing like manning the camera, then jumping in and trying to be on the other side!

Even though I was busy with all the portraits, it was really fun to hang out with my brothers & sisters. So many inside jokes. So many random sombreros. And we listened to Les Mis just like the old days.

My brother’s suggested this “Duck Dynasty” pose. Eh…

The “Bells.”

These were taken at Donnell Pond, behind my brother & sisters’ old middle school in Findlay.
I never attended this school {we moved}, but still have lots of good memories of dreaming of being an author and illustrator while my class picnicked at the pond and catching tadpoles while wearing slap bracelets with my brothers. ♥

I love these. The location is beautiful. Your Mother is beautiful and my favorite is the sombrero’s.

Always such a wonder to get acquainted with a new baby.
Meeting this little one and taking photographs for his sweet family was a joy.
He slept through the entire session and let us “ohh and ahh” to our heart’s content.

Daddy serves in the Air Force & Mama made this beautiful blanket.
