Do you remember Mike & Libby? They chose Franklin Park Conservatory for their retro, vintage inspired Columbus wedding! It’s a versatile venue with many options for large & small weddings. Inside The Palm House, there is a mix of magnificent greenery & stunning Dale Chihuly glass art chandeliers.

She looked like a dream wearing this elegant, beaded, v-neck gown… don’t you agree?

Mike & Libby did a First Look in order to have more time to interact with their guests who traveled from all over the country to join them. We always want to make it special for couples & give them a little privacy since it is such a special moment.

I love how they incorporated elements from both of their faiths in their ceremony.

The reception was held inside The Palm House. Having your wedding & reception in the same venue is a clever way to add more time to your wedding day!

Just before sunset we snuck away to photograph some portraits at the Bride’s Garden on the other side of the Franklin Conservatory.

I love toasts… especially between sisters.

I was captivated by this ever changing Dale Chihuly glass artwork into the evening as well! I saw his work at the Dayton Art Institute years ago and fell in love!

All the best {many hugs} to Libby & Mike! ♥

      Oh wow!!!!

that dress is sooooo cute!and the location?!?great!!!simply great!

Recently I have challenged myself to make photography sessions even more personal to the lovely people in front of my camera.
I want them to show me all the intricate notes that their life’s symphonies are composed of…
Then they will have artwork that interprets their song with authenticity.

Jenifer & Tim invited me to a farm that is a common motif in their love story. They have both been raised caring for horses & participating in fairs & shows. It was an unexpectedly chilly & very windy afternoon, but they were wonderful. The shoot took place at Royal Creek Farm in Springfield, Ohio. It sits on over sixty acres & offers several trails for riders. If you are looking to book a local rustic wedding venue, I would recommend checking out their website.

I wish them both the best & many thanks for letting me peek inside your world! ♥

Much love and appreciation to my military family! ♥

Here’s a little of the “back story” for those of you who don’t know…

A little over five years ago, my quiet, predictable life changed. Eight months into our marriage, my husband took an oath and joined the Air Force. I had no idea what would meet us on the other end of his training {besides a a move 1,000 miles across the country}. We jumped into the military life eagerly, blindly… together.

Although my heart swells with pride & respect for him & the ones who serve next to him, there are certainly challenges to this path we’ve chosen. Rocky & I have been married for six years, but have spent over a year of that apart. That number is actually low, since he was supposed to deploy this past summer until an injury compromised his ability to go. He would have missed the birth of our son & met him for the first time just a few days ago.

This Christmas season, I took a lot of personal time to appreciate the luxury of having him with us. However, our thankfulness comes with the knowledge that many families had someone missing in their photographs. Thousands of couples weren’t able to kiss at New Years. I’ve been trying to think of a way I can give back to my military family that I am so honored to be part of!

When my in-laws were cleaning out their garage, I was really inspired by an old red bike they considered giving away. I promised that we would use it for a photo session… and true to my word, a whole story evolved from that bike!

For this shoot, I teamed up with stylist & photographer Caitlin Buck of Simply Photography. I actually met her at Ashley & Jimmy’s wedding last May. Shortly after she introduced herself, she said something about shooing with a Nikon as well and I liked her! She makes a lot of her own props & headpieces for her clients! She is incredible! We bounced ideas back & forth, then she brought so much creativity & enthusiasm to this set.

We set up the shoot (Caitlin and I arrived with two very full SUVs of props) at Brumbaugh Fruit and Fun Farm. They are located just outside of Arcanum, Ohio and have a large apple orchard as well as fun games for the kids and treats. You’ll probably remember our newlyweds, Ashley & Jimmy from here. They brought their adorable pups, Marino (Golden Retriever) & Lucca (Pomeranian)!

It was Ashley’s birthday weekend, so I baked a cake with a rustic bunting top!

A golf cart went by at just the right time to create a really beautiful haze of dust in the background. I want to bring one to every shoot now.

    Isn’t she lovely?

Mini Apple Cider doughnuts from Tim Hortons. I have an addiction to their hot chocolate with whipped cream.

Caitlin hollowed out the apples to make little cups… so cute!

Caitlin also made headpieces for the pups… I LOVED this idea! I also love when clients bring their “kids!”

This vintage Love Story was also featured on the beautiful blog, Postcards & Pretties!

Yesterday I hinted on my Facebook page that there will be an announcement on here, please check back tomorrow for all the details! ♥

Sexy indeed, she looks like a diva. An expressive couple, a wonderful work with this shooting. I must say that you give us a new ways of shooting photos like this

Brandon & Becki had a beautiful wedding at Tipp City’s Willowtree Inn! For those of you who aren’t familiar with this wedding venue, it is a historical home that has been a part of Miami County since the 1830’s. It gives your wedding an effortless vintage backdrop…

I loved the peace & simplicity of Becki’s wedding preparations.

    These ring bearers were adorable!

For me, there is nothing like the moment a bride is waiting to make a grand entrance…

I will never tire of pretty outdoor venues…

    Or pretty pretty brides!

Brandon was so happy. I loved how he wore his emotions on his sleeve all day. You could see how much he loved her in every photograph.

And she was pretty excited too!

    My favorite.

An inside joke shared with the closest of friends.
