When Brynn, {the bride from today’s wedding}, told me there would be hydrangeas at The Chanler, I knew I was going to love it. As you can see, “it’s full of romance that old place,” and it makes the perfect destination wedding venue. To see more of the photographs from the morning of this beautiful Newport, Rhode Island wedding, click here. After this post, I have one more treat from their day after sunrise session on the beach {breathtaking sunrise I should add}.

I love the way that Brynn carried her mother’s memory with her throughout her wedding day. A photo charm on your wedding bouquet is a beautiful way to honor someone special who has passed away or can not attend.

Here is are a few questions that Brynn answered for me about her lovely wedding day!

Most memorable moment of your wedding day? My favorite part of our wedding day were the little hand squeezes and smiles during our vows and the kisses during our first dance that made me feel entranced by the moment. I also loved our guests (young and old) dancing at the reception; we were surprised at how well our older guests could move.

Any advice for those planning now? Do not let the wedding consume your relationship. Remember who you both were before wedding planning, and set some time together where you will not discuss the wedding.

What song did you walk down the aisle to? Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke

What song played during your first dance? Into Your Sun by No Second Troy

Stay tuned for their sunrise day after session!

    A little bit about us…

February has been another busy month of being mommy of two while daddy is TDY {he’s gone a bit every month lately}, enjoying unexpected beautiful weather, holding sick babies until they can sleep again, art projects with Kevin & lots of preparation for this wedding season! I’ve also been steady on with my gym attendance although the scale certainly doesn’t seem to know that yet. All of my Pinterest links are helping me believe that I will start transforming my body if I don’t quit. If you have a health or fitness Pinterest board let me know, I need all the encouragement I can get! I’d love to fit into my pre-Damian jeans someday. 🙂

    Hope you’re having a lovely week ♥

I’ve been making a slight attempt to be careful with what I eat, so I bought a large bag of pears thinking that they would go to good use. As I watched the last of them ripen quicker than the pace we were eating them, I thought it would be fun & a little exotic to make pear cupcakes. I even thought I would incorporate some Greek Yogurt into a pear/ginger frosting. It seems like every time I watch Cupcake Wars, I believe I can make any kind of cupcake I imagine {sans recipes}.
    Not the greatest idea!

I took a basic vanilla cake recipe & added two chopped pears. I made a mess of a frosting with Greek Yogurt + another pear, and was so disgusted I threw it out after a little taste. Instead I went for a basic {fail-proof} buttercream with extra vanilla & ginger {omitting pears from the frosting altogether}. In all honesty, if Florian were to have tried it, he probably would have told me that although the cupcake was good, he “could not taste the pears whatsoever” {in his thick French accent}. Now I know I can secretly add pears to any batch of cupcakes & the kids will never know. I also found that Greek Yogurt is a tasty topping by itself- don’t add pear juice to it!

Here are some pictures from my little kitchen escapades… Pear Vanilla Cupakes topped with Ginger Buttercream & Toasted Almonds

I added a little DIY heart topper from some fabric scraps that was super easy but really cute!

We finally have a little snow on the ground and the boys are itching to go play in it.

I’m kissing them goodbye for a bit while I make a little trip north to meet my brand new nephew!

    Stay warm & cozy.♥

What a lovely, creative idea and beautiful photography, as always! 🙂

Last summer I had the honor & pleasure of traveling to Newport, Rhode Island for a destination wedding at the Chanler Inn. Brynn & Ryan had originally dreamed of a vintage wedding in Ohio, but then fell in love with the charm & beauty of having an intimate wedding by the beach in Newport. After you see how her amazing vision came together, I think you will see why she loved the idea of planning a destination wedding in New England!

Since there is so much to share from our trip to Rhode Island, I have broken down her wedding & sunrise day after session (newlywed session) into three posts. This one is dedicated to the beautiful morning of her wedding day. When I look at these photographs I love remembering how peaceful the morning was, even though the flower girl’s dress did not make it to Rhode Island! Another one was found that very morning & everything went off without a hitch!

I hope you enjoyed the photographs! Please check back for Part 2 & 3!

It seems like no matter how prepared we try to be, something is always missed.
What did you forget on your wedding day?

Some of my blogging & Instagram friends are participating in Feb Photo A Day so I joined in too! I’ll post some of the pictures here, but all of them on Instagram {andreadozier}.
The prompt for #Day 2? WORDSThis is a little peek at the wall to my left when I’m at the computer in my home office {where I edit wedding photography, blog, email…}. It’s good to remember this. ♥

Aw, I love that! Thanks for sharing. It's hard to stop and remember that on busy days. What a lovely point. <3

My favorite moments of a wedding day are the ones that aren’t on the timeline.

    Breathing.

    Relaxing.

    Taking in the moment.

    The sweetness of anticipation.

The wedding I am putting together for the next post was breathtaking. The Chanler Inn is divine & I felt awed by the beauty of such a historic landmark. Being at this European-styled boutique hotel was incredibly inspiring. It gave this modern wedding a vintage feeling & was the perfect backdrop for artistic photographs. I didn’t stay long in Newport, Rhode Island this summer, but I came back with a beautiful collection of images to share {including a sunrise day after session on the beach}!

    Stay tuned ♥
